Five Fun & Free Things To Do

What make visiting any destination a little sweeter? Finding cool things to do around town that don't cost you a dime! Check out this list of five fun & free things you must do during your visit to Ruston, LA!


1. Catch an outdoor event or concert in Railroad Park. Located in Downtown Ruston, historic Railroad Park is the perfect place to gather around, hear local musicians, check out local artists displayed during art crawls, or even just have a picnic. 2. Play a game of Frisbee golf in Garland Gregory Hideaway Park. Gather friends for an afternoon of fun and fierce competition. The park is open daily from dawn til dusk and includes pavilions and picnic areas. It's located near Louisiana Tech's campus and provides endless opportunities for outdoor entertainment! 




3. Peruse the exhibits at the university student art galleries. Visit Louisiana Tech University and Grambling State University for a look inside these young artists. LA Tech's School of Art Gallery and GSU's Dunbar Gallery truly showcase the talent of art students in Lincoln Parish.

4. Visit James Lake Birding Trail. Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! View a wide variety of birds on the James Lake Birding Trail in Dubach, LA - one of Louisiana's best places to enjoy bird watching. Just want to enjoy nature? Take a stroll on the walking paths or sit an reflect by the lake! 





5. Visit the Autrey House. The Autrey House Museum is a dogtrot home build in 1849, and is believed to be the oldest surviving structure in Lincoln Parish!
